Cycle paths
Take a bike ride, sure, but where?
On the 40 km of cycle paths now available in Bayonne.
A special route is taking shape in the city of Bayonne, allowing you to cycle with complete peace of mind!
To go further afield, head for the beaches, where a real change of scenery,from the banks of the Adour to the edge of the beaches, awaits you.
Head along the port of Bayonne, located in Anglet, and at the La Barre roundabout, takethe "Piste des Plages d'Anglet" route,which runs along the ocean, between the Adour and the Chambre d’Amour.
When the fine weather arrives, you can also board the Txalupa, the hybrid boat which provides the connection on the Adour between Boucau/Tarnos, central Bayonne and the beaches of Anglet.
A few minutes on the water, where you can take your bike with you, before reaching the beaches of the Basque Country or those of the Southern Landes - it's so tempting!
A few practical figures for using this river shuttle:
- Daily connections from 9.00am to 7.30pm. - Two stops along the way on the right bank of the river, the first at the Grenet bridge, the second at the Boucau slipway. - A service every 30 minutes
For travel times, allow:
- 3 minutes from Marie de Bayonne to the Grenet bridge - 11 minutes from the Grenet bridge to the Boucau slipway - 7 minutes from the Boucau slipway to Brise-Lame d'Anglet
For the more athletic, you can continue your ride on the “Vélodyssée” track (Atlantic coast cycle route) which connects the entire Atlantic coast, from the Basque Country to Brittany.

Can’t park your bike at home?
Thanks to the 450 parking points available in the city, you can leave it nearby – no problems!
Underground parking
As with the car, underground parking facilities are safe places to park your new means of transport. At the Belfort car park, or the one at Tour de Sault, you can drop off your bike.
Open-air parking
New for bikes in the heart of the city!
In the de Gaulle car park, next to the Town Hall a secure “Bicycle Park” with 38 spaces is now available.
Accessible using a magnetic badge, this park is equipped with an inflation pump and 4 electrical stations for recharging your batteries.
Rates It can be used on subscription by cyclists who regularly use a bicycle, at the price of €5 per quarter or €15 per year, regardless of where they live.

Preferential parking rates for residents in covered car parks (Paulmy, Sainte-Claire, Tour-de-Sault, Vauban, Gare, Belfort) for bicycles:
per quarter: €10

Bayonne, listed as "Cycling City of the Tour de France"
Bayonne, the finishing city of the 3rd stage, has just been awarded the label of "Cycling City of the Tour de France", an honour awarded to collectives committed to cycling mobility and supporting policies to promote this means of transport, in all its forms.
With this level 2 listing, Bayonne shares the Tour de France's ambition to create a connection between the cycling of champions and everyday life.
